Oregon’s Biggest Used Book Sale Is Back! Friends of the Multnomah County Library’s 50th Anniversary Fall Used Book Sale October 28-31, 2022 4 DAYS—More than 65,000 Books, CDs, DVDs, & other items Join the Friends of the Multnomah County Library at the Fall Used Book Sale, Oregon’s biggest and best used book sale, October 28-31, 2022. This sale features more than 65,000 items at great prices. Hardcover and quality trade paperbacks start at $2; mass market paperbacks, children’s books, comic books, vinyl records, CDs, sheet music, maps, and pamphlets start at $1; DVDs start at $2. Graphic novels, audio books, and video games are also available. Everything is sorted and in excellent condition. Proceeds of the sale benefit programs of the Multnomah County Library. The event takes place at the Lloyd Center DoubleTree Hotel Exhibit Hall, 1000 NE Multnomah St., Portland, Oregon 97232. The event is easily accessible by TriMet/MAX. (Boxes provided) In addition to the general inventory, the Collector's Corner/Top Shelf on Friday and Saturday offers a tempting selection of unusual and vintage books. You will discover hard-to-find books by iconic children’s book authors & illustrators, scholarly/academic titles, lots of books on literature, a collection of books on Japanese naval warfare (tons of photos and diagrams), a trove of Oregon high school & college yearbooks, and an excellent cache of DVDs and paper ephemera. We will also feature Top Shelf books—stock that would normally have sold in our Central Library Friends store and is a carefully chosen selection of recent fiction and non-fiction in pristine condition. Everything in Collector’s Corner/Top Shelf is hand picked and special. Come explore! While admission to the event is free, the sale opens Friday with a Members-Only Pre-Sale from 6pm to 9pm. Memberships can be purchased at the door, but those interested in attending the Members-Only Pre-Sale are strongly encouraged to join or renew their membership in advance. People can join online at friends-library.org. Annual individual memberships are $25, and family memberships are only $35. The sale’s Book Depot offers an invaluable service to shoppers on Friday and Saturday. Shoppers can drop off boxes or bags of books they plan to purchase and then continue to browse while volunteers total the purchases to expedite checkout. Please note: no electronic devices to check prices will be allowed during Friday’s Members-Only event. Phones and scanners will be allowed Saturday through Monday for checking individual items.
