Job Description Responsibilities: Operate drill rigs safely. Execute drilling tasks such as, soil drilling, sampling Maintain accurate logs and reports Ensure OSHA & all company safety procedures are followed Effectively communicate with field staff, engineers, and clients. Perform daily routine maintenance and safety checks, minor mechanical repairs and associated record keeping. Qualifications Experience in geotechnical/environmental drill rig operation a plus including wire line rock coring, mud rotary drilling, and hollow stem auger drilling. Ability to learn and perform maintenance and repairs of Mobile Drill drilling rig with in-house training provided. Clean driving record Ability to drive with manual transmission Regional travel expected. Must be able to lift 75 pounds without assistance. SKILLS Critical Thinking- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Monitoring- Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. KNOWLEDGE Mechanical- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Public Safety and Security- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
