Hello families looking for childcare! A quick note about me: My name is Diana. My vision as a Montessori early childhood teacher and private care provider, with experience for over 15 years, is to offer an environment full of high-quality activities, where infants, toddlers and children can develop order, concentration, and coordination, to achieve the independence that they require to succeed. I moved from Boulder Colorado a year ago where I used to lead an Early childhood classroom in the oldest school in the state. This past year, I led a classroom at a Montessori school in Ithaca. I have references from the director and co-workers upon request. I am a passionate, patient, happy, flexible, attentive teacher and caregiver who loves working with children. I excel at curriculum development to help children explore and find answers to their own questions through self-corrective activities. I have worked as a Spanish tutor, a home schoolteacher, and nanny of children 3 months to 6 years. I am bilingual, I have outdoor recreation teaching experience, an up-to-date background check, CPR training, and First Aid. Crucially, I am quick to respond to work related communications. My current availability and plans: I am working on creating a space at my home, where I can provide Montessori philosophy learning environment, with Spanish as a second language, to a small group of children. The activities that I am setting up engage practical life, science, math, language, arts, sensorial activities, hands-on works, and a healthy amount of outside time. I am expecting to finish setting up everything by the end of October, so parents can have the opportunity to come and see the learning environment, and if you are interested talk about full time or part time schedules and tuition fees. For now, I am hoping to work with 2 children at a time. If I get requests from more families, I will create a waiting list while we wait for my license to work with a larger group that involves 3 children or more. In the meantime, I am more than happy to offer private care, driving children to classes, Spanish tutoring, nature field trips and/or anything I can do to help the child improve their emotional, social, and intellectual growth.
