Priority will be performing DOT inspections on 18wheeler trucks and trailers. We can hire and train the right candidate, but this person must pass the DOT certification exam within 90 days of hire. Will be moved to DOT inspector pay rate after passing the DOT exam and completing first solo DOT inspection. This role will also help with other shop work as needed when not completing inspections. State of Texas DOT inspector requirements: • Must be at least 18 years old • Must hold a valid driver license to operate a motor vehicle in Texas • Must not be currently suspended or revoked in the Texas vehicle inspection program • Pass a background check • Attend a DPS-approved Inspector Training Course (paid for by employer) • Pass a written inspector examination • Pass a practical exam, demonstrating proficiency in the Vehicle Inspection process
