Description

My daughter was found to have a brain tumor (Optic Nerve Glioma) 4/12/22, she is 3yrs old. Since 5/3/22 she's had 3 brain surgeries; the first to resect her tumor which caused Adrenal insufficiency, diabetes insipidus, hypopituitarism, and total loss of vision in her left eye. These are all common with this type of tumor due to the location of the brain. We are thankful she still retains her motor function fully, intelect is in tact, and personality! The second to put in a external drain to treat hydrocephalus after the tumor resection, and then a third to change the external drain to a vp shunt once they were sure there was no infection. Since the discovery of the tumor I've had to leave my job to care for her. I've found some(3) part time work jobs (Shipt/Uber Eats/News paper front office coverage)that she can attend with me, but it's just not covering the routine bills and the additional travel costs of driving to Beverly Hills for her care at Cedars-Sinai. Plus all these jobs are adding significant additional cost in fuel and miles/ wear and tear on my vehicle which is the primary vehicle for commuting to Cedars-Sinai and needs to remain in a good condition for many reasons other than that. I've applied for assistance (SSD and Foodstamps)but my husband's income alone exceeds the threshold to qualify, so we don't qualify for the help. I've found some local cancer foundations, one so far has been able to assist with some gift cards for fuel or travel needs which we greatly appreciate. Each month we sink further behind, maxing out our credit cards with the cost of gas and groceries these days. We are a family of 5 struggling with this extraordinarily difficult situation and we need help. I'm very motivated to find a way to provide for my family while still being avaliable to care for my son's (5yrs &6yrs) and keep my daughter who is currently doing chemotherapy with me while I work. Due to her tumors location she's needs to be monitored by someone who would notice the changes that could signal a need for immediate medical attention; such as a parent or close family member. I'm seeking employment 9a-2p Monday-Friday(I transport my son's to school) that is aware my daughter needs to be monitored consistently, so she would be with me a majority of the time. I have a multitude of skills, and think I could be a great personal assistant, as I can manage my time effectively and have a variety of skills that make me capable of preforming many tasks ranging from household tasks, errands, emails/ phone calls, grocery shopping, etc. Just ask. I'm running out of ideas of where to find help before things get worse, and haven't had luck so far finding a job that fits within those hours regularly outside of the ones that take a toll on my car. If you want to help but don't have employment/food bank/ other resources to offer you could donate to our family here. https://cash.app/$B88Jensen
