$50 gas cards for volunteers this weekend!

We are organizing a door knocking campaign for the weekend to educate people about the Hillsborough County 1% sales tax (with the transparent goal being to persuade people to vote against it, or at a minimum just educate themselves about what the sales tax means). You can read more about the current legal challenges with the sales tax here): All volunteers will meet up at Bonnie Brae Park at 9:30am this Saturday! Feel free to shoot us an email if you have any questions in advance or want more details. - We will be using Campaign Sidekick to organize everyone - volunteers will need to come with their phones ready and be prepared to get setup with Campaign Sidekick that is used to keep track of the addresses that have been visited - Each volunteers will have to provide their name, phone number and email address when setting up the mobile application and agree to the terms of service of the app. - Each volunteers must respect no soliciting signs! We don't want to talk to people who don't want to talk with us :) Please be respectful. - Credit is given if you visit an address even if you aren't able to anyone (for example, if they aren't home; there is a no soliciting sign) as long as you accurately track the address in the mobile app! After everyone is setup with their phones, we will talk about the main topic -- the sales tax issue! -- and answer any and all questions you have about how the process will work, what to expect, etc. Each volunteer will visit designated houses that show up in their mobile app to talk to people about the sales tax as well as to ask them questions from the app (e.g., who they plan to vote for, if they plan to vote, etc.). Only one mobile account gets credit per address! So if you go out in pairs, only one person's phone is getting credit. So divide and conquer! Each volunteer will receive a $50.00 gas card (various gas stations available, most likely RaceTrac) for every 150 addresses that their mobile app shows that they completed visits for during the period of 9:30am on Saturday through 8:00pm on Monday. There is a MAXIMUM of TWO (2) gas cards per participant for the three day period. The two participants who have the most addresses from Saturday thru 8:00pm on Monday will each receive an extra $50.00 gas card! This bonus gas card DOES NOT count against the two (2) gas card maximum! On Saturday we will hand out the phone numbers and email addresses for the people who will distribute the gas cards when the project is complete so you know where and how to get your gas cards! You won't need to wait until Monday. If you want to stop before Monday, distribution of the cards will take place all weekend.
