POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician (MTECH) will work closely with the DCPDO in planning campus projects, determining work schedules, and helping ensure overall departmental costs remain as low as possible. In addition to these managerial tasks, the MTECH will perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of main campus/clinic building and grounds a necessary. Work will also include in a wide range of trade areas including plumbing, painting/sheetrock patches, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, general building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repair. As needed, the maintenance tech will provide oversight to contractors and outside vendors. A key responsibility of this position is also to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to students, staff and other members of the university community. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education & Training: High school diploma/G.E.D, or equivalent experience; Fire/security/hazard blood borne pathogen experience preferred. Certifications & Licenses: OSHA 30 cert, OFSMA Certification or something similar and valid driver’s license preferred. Experience: 3-5 years in facilities industry or equivalent combination of experience and education; 8+ years in university/college facilities/operation department preferred. Related Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: General maintenance and repair. Other Qualifications: Able to lift 75 lbs. and perform multiple physical exertion tasks daily.
