9-Week Winter Academic Portrait $690.00 Sundays October 9 - Dec 18, 5:00-9:00pm (No class Nov. 27) This 4-hour IN PERSON advanced portrait painting class will meet for 9 weeks, with a single sustained pose from October to December. This class combines 3 hours of model time with an bookended 1/2 hours allotted for focused discussion and feedback on the night’s work. The academic process begins with accurate drawing, proceeds to underpainting, and then to the final full-color layers. Elizabeth employs a direct-to-indirect-painting technique, which helps develop accurate color and value control. Plenty of advice regarding a multi-layer painting process will be discussed as your work develops. From 5:00-5:30pm Elizabeth will present the evening’s objectives and answer questions. From 5:30pm-8:30pm there will be a single portrait pose for the entire 9-week class, with the same model each week. When the pose ends we will spend time discussing the results of our session’s work.
