Description

Learn about the original American-made spirit, fruit brandy. Apples grown in the colonies were not for pie but for drinking. And not just apples. Fruit brandies were made with apple and pear in the north and peach in the south. Early mixed drinks used this local -- orchard to glass -- spirit in their libations. Learn, create, and taste around three story-worthy drinks. Develop your palate and learn the mixologist's techniques for making these drinks that began in colonial America through prohibition. Enjoy appetizers, and take home your recipe booklet to continue your cocktail explorations at home. This interactive cocktail class combines history and mixology. Hogwash master mixologist Simon Moorby walks guests step-by-step through the making of 3 drinks. Cocktail historian, Renée Cebula of Raising the Bar, tells the stories of how these drinks shaped drinking culture. Class set-up includes bartending stations with all the necessary tools, fresh-made and prepped ingredients, and vintage glassware. Shake, swirl, and sip in style as you hear the stories, learn the techniques, and enjoy the drinks. Tickets are $65 per person. Your ticket includes three crafted drinks, mixology and history lessons, appetizers, and a souvenir recipe booklet. Must be 21 and over. Each class is limited to 30 guests.
