Join us at the Layered Studio for a for a fun and unique cake decorating experience where you will learn how to build your own 6” cake and decorate it in a beautiful rustic buttercream finish with fall decor and a salted caramel drip. All materials and tools needed to create this cake will be provided by us. Simply show up ready to have fun, be creative, and eat cake!
In this class, we will cover:
The fundamentals of working with buttercream, including our tips and tricks on how to get the silkiest buttercream ever, how temperature is key to a smooth finish, and our recommendations on Swiss meringue vs. American buttercream
How to build a cake from scratch which includes trimming and torting the cake layers, moistening those layers with simple syrup, and filling the layers with buttercream.
How to frost a cake in a rustic buttercream finish.
How to arrange and apply fall themed decor to the frosted cake.
How to add a salted caramel drip.
Also included in this class:
Charcuterie cones, desserts, and drinks to give us the energy we need to decorate our little hearts out!
A cake box to bring your gorgeous creation home in (our cakes freeze well so you can pop the box in your freezer until you are ready to eat or gift it!)
