Description

Come cozy up with us this fall! We'll be gathering for a night of nourishment and fun to support The Sylvia Center, who partners with community-based organizations, schools, and businesses to deliver nutrition-focused culinary programming through NYC and Columbia County, NY. All are welcome. We'll be serving up lots of soup of course (yes to vegan and gf options), live music, and awesome queer vibes. There will be non-alcoholic beverages, beer & wine available for purchase. Please bring some cash for food donations (suggested donation $10-20). You can also donate via Venmo. Consider bringing your own spoon (BYOS) to reduce our environmental impact! There will be plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating available, and we encourage you to dress warmly for the weather. About The Aviary Kinderhook The Aviary Kinderhook is a new hospitality space run by Executive Chef Hannah Wong, located at The Kinderhook Knitting Mill (KKM) in Columbia County, NY. KKM is group of values-aligned women- and queer-owned businesses that seeks to foster community through intersections of food, art and design. Featured Chefs - more info coming soon! Location and Parking The Kinderhook Knitting Mill is located in Kinderhook Village, Columbia County, NY, about 20 minutes from Hudson, 30 minutes from Albany, an hour from the Catskills and the Berkshires. There is plenty of free parking on-site and within walking distance, although we encourage carpooling if possible. This event is ADA accessible. COVID Safety (subject to change) We strongly encourage individuals to prioritize their own comfort and consider the safety of everyone who will be sharing this community space. Please refrain from attending if you are feeling unwell or suspect recent COVID exposure. Masks will not be required, and there are plenty of outdoor areas to socialize should that feel best for you. About Queer Soup Night Queer Soup Night's mission is to strengthen local queer communities across the country through sharing space, sharing food and contributing to something bigger than ourselves. We believe that we are strongest when we are joyful and generous, together. Learn more at queersoupnight.com.
