Visiting Wilmington and Looking For Info on Public Fishing Spots

Hello! We are visiting the Wilmington area next week from Upstate New York, and I am hoping someone can help me find some public fishing opportunities, or even a reasonably priced charter boat. We are staying near the Sea Breeze area, and we'll have a car, but I'm not trying to go too far. I have read that there are some piers in Wilmington, some of which may rent gear (we would need to rent, we won't have any gear). Does anyone know if there's a pier like that near where we will be staying? Does anyone know of a reasonably priced charter boat or maybe a party boat we could do? If it helps, we are casual anglers, with very little saltwater experience. We really don't like using live bait and we are totally catch and release. Please let me know if you have any ideas that might help us. Thank you!
