Keddie Street near N. Maine Street, Fallon NV

Description

Have you, or someone you know, been providing food and care to an older black & white cat in the neighborhood of Keddie and N. Maine St. in Fallon? Coming from Reno, my daughter and I purchased a home here in Fallon, in this immediate area, back in June. With us, we brought the outdoor cats that were abandoned on the property of our previous home when we bought it, cats we have provided food for ever since. One of these cats was an older, black & white, neutered male that we have always called Tuxedo. Before releasing them here on the new property, we attempted to keep the cats indoors long enough to provide them with a navigational scent memory of their new home, so they wouldn't wonder and not be able to smell their way back. Understandably, that proved to be impossible and we had to release them shortly after their arrival. Of these cats, all stayed here on the new grounds, except for Tuxedo, who went missing the very next day. We looked for him and did asked neighbors, but none of us posted a missing notice. We were, at that time, quite overwhelmed with other matters and I was still making the commute back and forth daily to Reno for my job. Anyway, several nights ago while driving home on Maine St. an animal crossed right in front of our car. We were able to avoid hitting it and once it went up under the streetlight we recognized that it was Tuxedo. After some coaxing, I was able to pick him up and we brought him back home with us. Again, I'm trying my best to keep him indoors for a few more days before I release him back outside. He wants outside so badly. Twice now, I have brought him into the backyard, watching him intently to see how he behaves. Both times he immediately made a quick dash crossing directly in front of traffic on N. Maine St, heading in the direction of where we picked him up the other night: the corner of Keddie & N. Maine St. Considering his age, and that he relied entirely on us to feed him for 6yrs, it appears that someone must have been feeding him during the 4 months he was missing. He is such an excellent cat, so loving and gentle. While inside, he has used his litter box without fail; which seems exceptionally impressive behavior for a cat, who, to our knowledge, has always lived outdoors. To us, it appears that he is trying to get back to someone. If Tuxedo has been your cat over these past months, and you are missing him too, please contact us. We would gladly return him to you.
