King Retail Solutions, a leading designer and manufacturer of retail design and decor, is looking for a Carpenter Apprentice. This position is responsible for learning the set-up and operation of woodworking machinery and tools to assemble a variety of products. The Carpenter Apprentice works Mon-Fri 7:30am-4pm, plus additional overtime as needed. Flexible schedule availability is a requirement of this position. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Perform rough assembly of product on a bench per production schedules and timelines. Read and interpret shop drawings and be able to work from cut list Work closely with the project lead to achieve production goals and develop strategies to remain within the materials and labor costs quoted for the job/ Operates a safe work environment and keeps area neat and orderly, with materials and tools organized for efficient space utilization. Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; Mechanical aptitude and desire to learn a skilled trade One or more years of related experience in woodworking or cabinetry preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work independently, and follow directions, understand and interpret drawings, details, and written instructions. Ability to operate table saw, band saw, jointer, chop saw and planer, as well as hand tools such as pneumatic nail guns, jig saw and belt sander Tape measure reading proficiency required. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
