Replace Waste Arm Pipe

Need to replace the waste arm pipe under kitchen sink. There is a hole in the waste arm. The hole is located at the bottom of pipe(rust area) in pics. Not certain of the material but want to replace with PVC. Owner will buy the supplies needed. Pipe is behind garbage disposal. May need to be removed to replace the piping. Pics are attached. NOTE: The connection between the waste arm and sewerage pipe appears to be permanent instead of joining in a way for later removal(opinion only)
