Description
Hi, there - I'm a well-seasoned bass player whose primary band gave up the ghost when the pandemic hit, so have been sequestered in my music room noodling around on a variety of string instruments (guitar, mandolin, electric cello, tenor banjo, & baritone ukulele) as well as some keyboards, Irish whistles, and various hand percussion. Looking for a fun creative outlet that's not too demanding, respecting family & day job commitments; but maybe something that could develop legs and find its way into some venues and onto some festival stages in the Madison area. Developing original music, and/or original takes on covers is preferred. Would love to find something uptempo (AKA-danceable) and quirky, though also open to thought-provoking and socially relevant. Reiterating the "well-seasoned" part - my foundational music was late '70's, early '80's post-punk, avant-pop, new wave; but these days I'm more open-minded and willing to venture into acoustic folky stuff or more worldly music. Willing to let a project percolate - no need for immediate gigging. Within 15 miles of Cottage Grove preferred, for time and travel efficiencies.
