Description
We’re four musicians (lead guitar, bass, keys, drums), one or two of whom sing(s) lead. Three of the four sing harmony/backing. Our developing set list centers around tuneful rock/pop of the ‘60s, both well-known hit singles and deep album cuts by lesser-known artists. We place a strong focus on vocals. The plan has been to keep the set list loose and flexible, find the right fifth member, and then develop a set based on the shared tastes of all five.
We’re of an age that remembers a lot of these songs from when they were released. We practice together one evening a week and plan to play out as soon as we’re ready. There’s already strong chemistry among the four of us (we’ve worked together in various pairs for some time already and are past the getting-acquainted stage) and we seek to add a fifth member who fits into that.
You have the following characteristics: you’re mature (with all that implies); you dig ‘60s rock; you can sing lead and harmony; you’re willing to share vocal duties with the rest of the group; you are competent (at least) on guitar; you own your own pro gear and reliable transportation; your chief motivation for making music is not a financial one; you play well with others; you can/will show up to practices having done your “homework,” and you have a sense of humor. Drug addicts, alcoholics and/or parolees: this is not the right opportunity for you.
Reply with audio clips and some info about yourself, and we’ll be in touch as appropriate to share more about ourselves and our working set list. If that chat goes well, we’ll schedule a musical meet-n-greet and ask you to show up ready to sing lead and play on a couple songs, and sing harmony/play rhythm on a couple others.
