Looking for relatives

I was born Valerie Jeanne Vinson in 1961. My mother was named Brenda Carol Smith and was a student at Athens University, I was told she was from Findlay and her father or grandfather was a dentist. I was adopted by the Crabtrees and raised in Michigan. I am moving to the Lima area soon and am curious if I still have any living relatives in the area. If you have any information on family, cemetery headstones, particular high school yearbook I should research, please let me know. I am not interested in hiring or paying for research, just looking for a place to start. Thank you.
