Job Summary: We are looking to hire an experienced carpenter that possess a variety of trade experience, including people skills and problem-solving skills. Morrell Construction is looking for a candidate with strong ethics and an interest in potential lead carpenter training. The appropriate candidate must be knowledgeable in the field of residential remodeling and construction. The Carpenter must have the ability to receive plans and/or direction from our Project Managers and accomplish tasks with little or no supervision. This position requires independent problem-solving skills and effective communication. Experience/Requirements: • The ability to work with independently with minimal supervision; • Must have a valid driver’s license; • Must have the ability to lift 50lbs or more, reach, stand, kneel, and climb ladders; • Must have 3 years’ experience as a Carpenter in the residential remodeling or commercial field; • Must be detail oriented, have excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and proven leadership skills; • The ability to manage multiple projects / tasks; • The ability to prioritize work, maintain a positive attitude and composure in stressful situations; • The ability to effectively coordinate / communicate with management on a daily basis; • The ability to use technology as it pertains to collecting and communicating data, via internet, and cell phone; • Must be able to lead and train carpenter apprentices; • Must be able to plan, execute and efficiently close out projects to the satisfaction of the company; • Must have a good understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading; • Must have reliable transportation (truck); • Must have own tools; and • Cell phone required This is full-time position with the starting wage being dependent on experience. Also looking for Carpenter Apprentice with at least 1 year experience. Wage will be dependent on experience.
