DePauw University Historian David Gellman will visit Auburn to discuss his new book, Liberty's Chain, an examination of slavery and abolition in New York and the nation through the lens of the prominent Jay family. Gellman will also explore the intersection between the personal and the political, as Blacks and Whites navigated legacies of enslavement, emancipation, and racism across the generations, from Revolution to Reconstruction.
