Football For Her is a safe and inclusive space to come and at minimum play pick-up soccer for those who identify as female or non-binary aged 8-18 from 7-9PM at Lab Five in Pacoima. We will incorprate interactive, informative, or inspiring sessions with professional players or resources needed by sport. Each week we will post the link to register and inform you if we will be including a special guest or not. Please sign up prior to coming on Friday in order to participate! MA Vignola: Defender M.A. Vignola signed with Angel City following a trade on Dec. 16, 2021, with the Washington Spirit, after the Washington Spirit claimed her on their discovery list. Vignola has played in Iceland for Thróttur Reykjavík (2020) and Valur (2021). In her first five weeks playing for Thróttur Reykjavík, Vignola was named to the Pepsi League Team of the Week four times. At Tennesse (2016–2019), Vignola was named to the All-SEC and United Coaches All-Region team her junior and senior seasons (2018–19). She started all 18 matches as the top scoring threat during her senior season. In high school at Saint Ursula Academy, she earned the No. 36 spot on the IMG Academy 150 List as a recruit. Saint Ursula Academy is the same high school that Brandi Chastain attended. Vignola played club soccer in the Elite Club National League (ECNL) for Ohio Elite Soccer Academy and led the team to three consecutive division titles and two ECNL top-10 finishes. Simone Charley-Forward Simone Charley was acquired by Angel City FC through a trade with the Portland Thorns on December 8, 2021, after appearing in 20 matches and tallying five goals for Portland in 2021. In the 2019–2020 season, she played for W-League team Canberra United in Australia, where she scored five goals in 11 games. In 2019, Charley was named to the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team roster for the Nordic Tournament and scored in a 2–0 win over Norway. In 2018, after going undrafted in the NWSL College Draft, then-Portland coach Mark Parsons invited Charley to train with the team as an unrostered player. She spent 2018 training with the first team and earned a contract ahead of the 2019 season. She appeared in 11 games with six starts during her first season. At Vanderbilt, Charley was named First Team All-SEC during her sophomore season, All-South Region First Team and Second Team All-SEC during her junior season, and Second Team All-Southeast Region along with Second Team All-SEC during her final season as a graduate student in 2017. As a freshman, Charley was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team, was the team’s top returning scorer with five goals and 15 points, and tied for the team high in assists with five. She was a dual-sport athlete in soccer and track and field.
