This course will teach defensive baton skills that work for security guards, law enforcement and civilians. You will also have the opportunity to try several different makers’ batons to determine which work best for you. Did you know that all batons are not created equal? There are many out there (ASP, Monadnock, Peacekeeper, and Bonowi, plus a bunch of cheap knock-offs), but they are NOT all equally effective, durable or easy to use.The course will cover how to carry it, how to draw it, how to strike with power, what targets to go for, and the legal considerations when using a potentially deadly force option like a baton. If you have your own baton bring it along so we can address any specific issues or questions, and you can compare it to other batons. No prior experience is required, and training batons will be provided.
