Learn how to can products using hot water bath canning, a safe and easy method. Three homemade products will be featured – a jam/jelly, a pickle, and a fruit sauce. Davis learned how to can tomatoes, applesauce, and jams and jellies from her mother. For six decades she has made a variety of products for personal use and to give as gifts for friends and relatives.
Students will receive handouts that include recipes for a jam or jelly, a pickle, and a fruit sauce and basic instructions for safe canning. As an added perk students will take home a sample of the featured class product.
$5 per class for WCA members and $10 for non-members. Please bring a check or cash the day of the program. Space is limited to seven people. Please register for each class. Additional classes are November 6 and November 20.
