Set during the mid-1800s through the 1920s, Carterville was a town exploding with mining and the money it brought to the community. It changed from cornfields and farm plots to paved streets, elegant hotels, cafes and theatres. As the business and mining areas developed, so did the Carterville schools that were once the most modern in the area serving nearly 1,000 students. Understand life in our area with first-hand accounts retold as historians highlight landmarks and recreate a by-gone era. Seats are limited on the trolley. Reserve your seat today.
