The ladies of the Philadelphia Chapter of BWEA are excited to host our first in person General Meeting since 2020, and we are welcoming members and friends back with a powerful networking and professional growth experience.
Join us for Breakfast and a Book Talk with Author, Educator, and Speaker - Dr. Camika Royal. Following our general meeting, we will chat and chew with Dr. Royal as she encourages, inspires and challenges us to examine the intersection of school reform, inequity, racism, and educator passion to meet extensive needs of black and brown students in the School District of Philadelphia.
You DO NOT want to miss this experience. BWEA's mission is to continue to grow and support Black female leaders in all areas of education by becoming more visible, elevating our voices, and adding value to our members and the education community. We can not think of a better way to bring in the school year than challenging our hearts and minds with an opportunity to grow and think critically about our impact on the lives of students and families in the city of Philadelphia.
** Thank you to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Company for their sponsorship support of this event.
Dr. Royal will be signing books at this event, BUT you MUST purchase your book ahead of time and bring it with you. The author will not have books with her. You can purchase the book at: https://www.amazon.com/Not-Paved-Educators-Philadelphia-Education/dp/1682537358
