something we should consider as musicians

Description

Lady's and Gentlemen please take note and consider the following rant. I've been a long time user of this site and in doing so I've been fortunate to have found some really good people here to perform music with, some of them haven't been the perfect fit to start off with, but given the time for them and myself to adjust to the situation and different backgrounds in music we have formed some really good and unique music along with great friendships. My point is that I understand that we have a tendency to want to move forward quickly and get the band out to play gigs but sometimes we should just go with the flow and give our fellow musicians a fighting chance to show us just how good they really are. When you go to the first audition with a new group of people you can be a bit on edge because you don't know exactly what their really looking for and you don't want to be rejected. My point is to give each other some respect for the art and be kind to the newbie or the professional. You may find that that kid with that new rig is just what your looking for given the time and encouragement. I personally have played with just about every level of talent and I never go out of my way to make those that can't cut the mustard feel like they're a failure. I've played well over 1000 shows with many bands and we have even invited many less than perfect musicians onto the stage to play a song or two with the band to give them the inspiration to pursue their dreams. Please take into consideration that the perfect fit really doesn't exist just like a marriage or a job, just roll with the flow and respect each other, it's only music and remember that you were once a less than perfect fit. Thanks for reading.
