I’m a wheelchair/bed bound married woman with a 6yr old daughter. We are temporarily living in an apartment until our much roomier house is done with renovations (also located in Chico). I am in need of assistance in the evenings/late night to give my husband a much needed break. I am easy going and friendly and looking for the someone to help me out. Since I am unable to move, duties include personal hygiene (brushing my teeth, washing my face, brushing my hair, etc), feeding me/light meal prep (ie heating up my food), administering my medication, as well as various small odds and ends and being my companion and watching TV with me/socializing. No lifting is required and you do not have to take me to the bathroom. There is some down time with this shift. Meaning there will be times when you can be in the living room if I am sleeping, although I may call you in frequently should I need something so bring your phone or a book or project to fill that time. IHSS worker is preferred, but not necessary if you agree to sign up for and become and IHSS worker as that is who will be paying you. As with any 8 hour shift you will be able to take a 15 minute break and a 30 minute lunch break as well as take advantage of any down time as mentioned above. Must be responsible, show up on time, stay for the duration of your shift and have reliable transportation. Please understand that in my position, if a worker does not show up, I am not cared for!
