Special Effects shop needs short term Mold Assistant

We're a special effects shop in Van Nuys and we have a short-term need for an assistant to help us in the mold-making department. We create props and supplies for the motion picture industry. Specific mold-building skills not necessary, but would be a huge plus. You would be working with one or more of our mold builders and fabricators to help them process jobs, prepare and assist in any way needed to keep the projects on schedule. You do need to be able to: *Handle basic hand and power tools, including band-saw, table saws with no supervision. *Have reliable transportation (may be asked to go on a supply run) *Be punctual and available to work, 11am to 5pm M-F for approximately two weeks. We may consider hiring for a future permanent position if you really impress us. For now, we're looking for short-term help. To be considered you must: Send us email with a cover page detailing your current availability, as well as any specific talents and skills in the fabrication, special effects, props and mold and casting area. This is not a special effects makeup gig. Makeup artists are not really the area of specialty that we're looking for. Pay is $100 to $120 per day. Approx 6 to 8 hrs per day. 1099 MISC.
