General Laborer SUMMARY The general laborer performs tasks involving physical labor for residential and commercial projects. This position requires operation of various hand and power tools including mowers, trimmers, pressure washers and sprayers. Candidate must be reliable, hard-working and eager to learn and implement new skills. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Mowing and trimming of lawns. • Pressure washing of residential and commercial structures and walkways. • Painting of interior and exterior buildings. • Participate in demolition of interior structures. • Trim bushes, shrubs, trees and removal of debris. • Use spray guns for application of material to walls, floors and ceilings. • Use basic hand tools and power tools. • Operate air, electric and pneumatic tools. • Maintain a safe, organized and clean work site. • Assist in waste disposal and recycling. • Load and unload equipment, material and/or supplies from vehicles. • Operate company owned vehicles, material handlers, lifts, rental equipment and including towing trailers. • Responsible for cleaning up each job as it is completed. • Capable of following procedures and completing simple/generic paperwork. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS • Prior Mowing and Construction experience preferred. • Valid driver’s license. • Ability to read a tape measure. • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and customers. • Ability to work within strict deadlines. • Good interpersonal skills and desire to be a team player. • Ability to work extended hours as needed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS • This position may require the ability to lift 50lbs, bending, stooping, standing and walking. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK • This is a full- time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. 40 hours per week. This position may require some overtime and weekend work. Start and end times are subject to change depending upon available work and schedule of customers. TRAVEL • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be available on occasion. ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS • Must possess a valid driver’s license. • Ability to obtain clearances REQUIRED for work at schools and prevailing wage jobs.
