Goodest Boy Ever

Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING. I really want to find this good boy his perfect home. Located in Oregon City, Oregon Backstory: We have some friends call and explain they found a dog tied up outside walmart. They asked around, and asked employees, who stated several customers and themselves witness a couple asking for money for dog food before getting a bunch of money and leaving him there a few hours before my friends found him. We took him in thinking he may have been stolen and started looking for his owner. We got in contact with her through the rabies tag on his collar. Unfortunately, she had just rehomed him with a brand new bag of dog food (40lbs) and his beds, toys, and bowls less than 8 hours prior to us finding him abandoned with absolutely nothing. She cannot care for him due to her current work life and constant traveling for work, so we could keep him or rehome him ourselves. She had trusted us based on us taking him in and trying to find her. Now about him: His name is Flopperton. She also called him Benny Bozo We call him Bo (responded to bozo best but I felt bad with that) Pitbull, maybe even pit mix 4-5 years old He is very well behaved Knows basic commands (sit, lay down, shake, out) Potty trained Neutered Vaccinated The Goodest Boy He loves to play Loves walks Loves attention Loves people THE BAD (reasons we can't keep him): He is not fond of cats. I have two cats and he is very aggressive towards them. I don't know if it's due to wanting to play super badly or if he just doesn't like them. He had a good experience with one cat, and kept kneeling down and bumping him with his nose in an attempt to play, but then in other instances with both cats, on separate occasions, he has lunged after them, growled, barked, and body slammed his kennel when inside at night in a very aggressive manner, to get to the cats or scare them off. While he is fixed, he does still mark. He also has separation anxiety. He whines and sometimes barks when left alone in his kennel. We have not tried leaving him out as he does like to mark sometimes (twice for us but when he was brand new in our home) so I'm not sure of his behaviors alone outside of the kennel. He is, according to his owner I contacted, dog selective. He gets along amazingly with my dog but I'm not sure about others He does pull on walks, but definitely not as bad as my previous dogs have. He is a great dog overall, but will need a yard for his energy, and that's not something we can provide in an apartment, and walks for just me and two dogs is a bit much. Dog parks for me aren't a good option with him for this reason either, as I'm not confident in my own ability to break up a dog fight while also watching my dog and my son. He also has sensitive skin!! He breaks out in a rash whenever he gets super stressed out or eats chicken! We give him food without chicken, and when he stresses, we get him out of that situation or calmed down, and give benadryl for the rash and he gets better ❤️ If I could, I absolutely would keep him in a heartbeat because he is the SWEETEST, GOODEST boy EVER, but it's just not what fits him and his needs and I want to make sure he doesn't go through a rehome or abandonment again. IF you think you are a good fit, please pm me with any questions and rehoming fee. We've spent money on his food, vet check, new collar (his was wearing down but will send you with original) and harness.
