About Fix-it CLE Repair Workshops Fix-it CLE Repair Workshops are fun, community-based workshops where neighbors, friends, and families work collectively to learn how to repair broken items. These Workshops help people realize the value of their stuff, foster community engagement, reduce material sent to landfills, and serve as a great way for skills to get passed on to a new generation. Fix-it CLE Workshops focus on empowering the residents of Greater Cleveland to keep materials and products in use through learning and repair as a part of a circular economy*. The Workshops will be held bi-monthly at the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District offices (2nd Saturdays) and the Sears think[box] located on Case Western Reserve University’s campus (4th Mondays). Both of these venues provide space in which to hold these workshops and foster an encouraging community. Each workshop may have a theme, but repairs falling outside of the theme are welcome. 2nd Saturdays Workshops at the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District will be held on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9 am-1 pm. Address: 4750 East 131 Street, Garfield Heights, OH 44105 4th Mondays Workshops at Sears think[box] will be held on the 4th Monday of each month from 3-7 pm. Address: Case Western Reserve University, Sear think[box], Richey Mixon Building, 11201 Cedar Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44106. Directions and parking can be found here. Please note that the work carried out in the Fix-It Workshop is performed free of charge on a voluntary basis by the repair coaches at hand. Participants will be asked to preform repairs themselves whenever possible, but repair coaches on site can help if necessary. Participants will be asked to sign a waiver confirming that they understand that the coaches making repairs offer no guarantees. *A circular economy reduces waste and pollution through design, keeps products and materials in use through reuse and repair, and restores and renews nature. Circular Cleveland is an initiative led by Cleveland Neighborhood Progress and the City of Cleveland to transition our region from its current linear and disposable society to one that is more circular.
