Be Here with Whitney Ellison- Poetry Reading, Discussion, and Open Mic

We are so thrilled to be hosting our very first poetry reading, as part of our "Be Here, by Leeta Ruth" event series! If you follow Whitney Ellison on social media @whitney_ellison_ , you know that she has a gift for the written word and a talent for capturing the human experience. This evening will focus on the topic of poetry as truth telling- finding love and compassion in challenging times and other things we need to talk about. As always with the Be Here events, the evening will also be about community, sharing space and conversation, and just "being". Although not required, feel free to bring your favorite poem or a poem you wrote to share with the group. An "open mic" opportunity will be held during the last 20 minutes of the session. Alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages will be available. The event is free, although we encourage a $10 (or any amount you feel called to give) donation to the Cincinnati Mercantile Library for the Black Experience Book Club (Venmo payment to @Whitney-Ellison-2 and put "library club donation" in caption. Whitney will email a receipt of the full donation after the event, upon request.) Opportunity will also be available, as always, to shop Leeta Ruth Boutique. We hope you can join us!
