Long before RuPaul's Drag Race brought drag into our living rooms and part of mainstream culture, drag thrived as a counter-culture, punk rock, call-to-arms whose long, storied history of queerness would help eventually blaze the trail for all that followed. As LGBTQ2+ culture grew more visible in the late twentieth century, drag performers were at the forefront of battles for liberation, political rights, and, later, for medical treatment during the years of the AIDS pandemic.  A colorful and glamorous history of the queens, kings and everything in-between who helped shape our history, Aggressive Glamour will feature an oral history of the evolution of drag.
