The documentary shares the story of California cook and restaurateur Sally Schmitt, the original owner and chef of The French Laundry. Part of The New York Times Op-docs series, the feel-good film reminds us about the rewards of balance and seeking your own definition of success. The evening will begin with opening remarks by Sally’s grandson and Napa resident, Bryon Hoffman, followed by two screenings at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. During the event, FARM Pavilion will proudly offer nightly specials from Sally’s book, Six California Kitchens: A Collection of Recipes, Stories, and Cooking Lessons From a Pioneer of California Cuisine. Local wine, cocktails and other seasonal small plates by FARM Chef John Carney are also available. Admission is complimentary and open to all. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Reservations are not required.
