Description
Deer hound found us about a month ago, severely malnourished and shot with buckshot. No owner ever claimed him, not surprising. He has gained weight, been treated for intestinal parasites, repeatedly bathed, and working on trying to do some training. Great with other animals (dogs, cat, even chickens), but does tend to guard his food pretty closely. Does great with kids too. He’s very anxious being inside and can’t seem to settle himself enough to relax unless laying in his kennel, but he does really well being crated on command. He has been abused, so I’m not sure how responsive he would be to actual training (example: sit, stay, etc), but he would LOVE an outdoor home with a fenced yard. Preferably with another dog to play with and/or a child. He has not been neutered and appears to be 1-2 years old. He has a vet appointment soon for shots and another round of wormer. Rehomming fee would apply, but only to recoup the expenses put in to him. He can also go with the kennel I bought for him, which is approximately 42x28x30, so it is extra large.
