Description

The Saluki Entrepreneur Corps is excited to start off its Speaker Spotlight series with a special edition called Breaking Frontiers in Entrepreneurship. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month the Saluki Entrepreneur Corps , The Saluki Entrepreneur Corps and Jorge Del Carpio decided to create an event where they invite entrepreneur students of The Public University of El Alto (UPEA) in Bolivia in order to combine and exchange ideas about entrepeneurship. About UPEA: UPEA was founded in the Bolivian city of El Alto (pop. 1.1 MM) after severe social mobilization in 2000. UPEA prepares about 55,000 students of limited financial resources in medicine, engineering, socio-political-economic sciences, and technology. The average monthly salary in Bolivia is about $420. In 2021 ten UPEA students rallying against the university’s administrative system, died after falling from the fourth floor of the building, after the safety railings collapsed in a passage way packed with students. About Jorge Del Carpio: Bolivian, B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (University of Iowa), currently accelerating Far Out, a one-stop platform for boomers, at SIU Business Incubator. Come out for this Saluki EC Special Event and learn more about the vision Jorge Del Carpio has for the partnership between the Saluki Entrepreneur Corps and the students of UPEA. We will also be providing Quatros Pizza at the event to everyone who registers by October 12th(while supplies last). For further inquiries, please contact us via email at [email protected] This event is made possible by support of the SIU Credit Union. We thank them for helping us sponsor this event.
