Advocates for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and Reconciliation (AIRR) will host a Panel Session on Supporting our Immigrant & Refugee Students. AIRRR provides education for allies, service providers, and congregations regarding immigration. Their goal is to humanize immigration and educate community members about the basics of the immigration system and the process. During this session, you will learn the differences between various visa's, a pathway towards citizenship, and major differences between asylum seekers and refugees. Special attention will be given to the DACA process and ways to support our immigrant students through their dreams of higher education. Dinner will be provided during the event. What to expect: The purpose - In this session, we will identify ways educators can make a difference in students' lives by learning the basics of immigration.
