Description
Our family of 5 is rehoming our 10 pound male dog.
The ideal adopter is:
-an adult (no small children)
-lives a quiet life
-willingness to work with him to improve his anxiety
Why our little fellow is up for adoption:
-he is showing aggressive behavior towards the smallest member of our family, our 8 year old daughter (growling which just escalated to biting)
-He has anxiety that we believe will improve with training & time
On the bright side, he is:
-super loyal to and loves the rest of the family who have had no issues with aggression
-loves to play with other smaller/medium dogs once he gets acclimated
-can sit, lay down, stay for a long time, shake
-smart & easily trains
-up-to-date on his vaccinations & has been neutered
-born on July 4, 2021 so he's still young and trainable
We are not willing to take a chance on the dog being even more aggressive (more serious bites), so for this reason we are rehoming him. After speaking with our vet this morning, they believe a new home, a gift card to Portland's Synergy Behavior (www.synergyhehavior.com) to cover the cost of working with a behaviorist, and exploring medication will make him nearly perfect.
