Description
Kamala Harris, Biden's VP pick caused panic among Florida residents reeling from the devastation of Hurricane Ian after she suggested that hurricane relief efforts would be distributed based on the color of their skin.
Gov. Ron DeSantis' office was quick to call out the V.P. and assure residents that what she said was inaccurate.
He had to do that because on Friday Harris, speaking at the Democratic National Committee’s Women’s Leadership Forum, said that:
"It is our lowest income communities and communities of color that are most impacted by these extreme conditions."
So the Biden regime was going to be "giving resources based on equity."
DeSantis office responds: Shortly after Harris' comment, Gov. Ron DeSantis' Rapid Response Director Christina Pushaw tweeted:
"This is false. @VP 's rhetoric is causing undue panic and must be clarified. FEMA Individual Assistance is already available to all Floridians impacted by Hurricane Ian, regardless of race or background. If you need assistance visit http://disasterassistance.gov or call
."
Pushaw in a separate tweet challenged Harris to "correct what she said." Harris has not.
Remember, There never was race-based distribution in Florida hurricane relief. So why would Harris say it? Mostly because that's what she wants the dem base to hear. But why would they want to hear that. Because "based on equity" has become another Democrat catchphrase, like "follow the science" that low-IQ left-wing politicians throw out on a whim because it makes their base happy because they think that equity means equal for all, but it doesn't- it means preference for some.
