SUMMARY: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for shipping and receiving goods, stocking products, processing returned material authorizations (RMAs) and assisting in inventory management. This person may be required to assist in quality inspections, processing inventory transactions and inventory management in coordination with Operations. The position will work under low to moderate supervision. All successful candidates will work within 21CFR820, ISO13485 (including applicable regional and sub-ISO standards), and Sarbanes Oxley compliant systems. Additional regulations and standards may apply. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment. • Records shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability. • Receives and unpacks materials and supplies. • Receives and prepares products returned on RMAs, including decontaminating and sterilizing returned products. • Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes. • Completes shipping and receiving reports. Committed to completion of all shipping requirements on Month/Quarter End. • Performs incoming inspections and completes inspection records as appropriate. • Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes. • Initiate and process NCMR’s as appropriate. • Helps maintain quality system procedures for effectiveness and compliance with QSR and international organization for standardization (ISO) 13485. May assist in internal quality system audits. • Collects, organizes, monitors and distributes information related to quality functions as required by management. Maintains documentation and/or other quality systems databases. Generates reports using computer skills and suitable statistical techniques, and distributes those reports to various users in the organization. • Identifies process improvements and assists teams in planning, coordinating, and implementing new programs or procedures. • Travel for this position is minimal to none. • Assist in general facilities maintenance items. QUALIFICATIONS: • A high-school diploma or GED; 1-2 years experience in a shipping and receiving role, preferably in a regulated environment. • Ability to develop expertise in relevant medical device legal and regulatory requirements, as defined in the Encision Quality Manual, is required. • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, all in English. • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. • Ability to use inspection plans and instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, scales, electronic testing (such as hipot), and smart scope as appropriate. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, all in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization (as appropriate). • Must be able to work as an individual contributor and effectively with others. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and be able to talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
