This enlightening presentation begins with exposing the federal and legislative bodies which gave the motivating factor for the establishment of the Underground Railroad in Ohio. Prominent statesman, attorneys ,abolitionist, and everyday citizens who risk their lives to take on the dangerous role as underground railroad conductors will be showcased. Successful escape slave rescue missions ,legal cases, and internal conflict within the church over the slave issue will also be featured. Herbert Addison Burns has recently presented an highly informative lecture on the History of Cleveland's Underground Railroad at the Life Long learning Program through Case Western reserve University. He is an Historical Lecture at the Encore Program through Tri-C Eastern Campus and acting President for the Friends of the Library at the Warrensville HTS Library Branch.
