Land security IS food security! We walk, ride, and move to turn vacant urban land into collective opportunity, supporting neighborhood farmers to grow the food that sustains us. SUPPORT the Movement! This year, we’re looking to raise $50k to continue our work to reclaim land and to build and protect urban farms across Boston that are under community control and for the benefit of neighborhood Black and Brown farmers. 10:15am Gather at Tommy’s Rock Farm for morning refreshments (next to the first farm stop) 10:30am-12:30pm Walking tour of our farmsites, ending at our newly constructed Westville Farm for refreshments. 1-2:30p: Join our Move 4 Farms After Party & Westville Farm Ribbon Cutting. Enjoy food, music, and games with the community For Donations : https://secure.actblue.com/donate/move4farms About the Organization: Boston Farms Community Land Trust reclaims land to build and protect urban farms across Boston, under community control, and for the benefit of neighborhood Black and Brown farmers. We create collective wealth through shared land that fosters the growth of food and farming enterprises. We own 4 operating farm sites in Mattapan, Dorchester, and Roxbury, with a 5th site opening October 1st and we have cultivated an additional pipeline of land from individual and government sources. We lease our sites to neighborhood farmers at a deeply affordable rate and also provide a range of financial and technical support to promote their success. We are who we serve; all of our staff and the majority of our board are residents of color from our neighborhoods. This vision/dream has been a long time in the works, and it's coming true -- we appreciate your help to make this possible!
