Sarah Shreder and Christina Spurling present a recital of music for Cello and Piano. A native of Islesford, ME, pianist Christina Spurling began her career as a classroom music teacher and choir director in Amesbury, MA. In 2017 she earned the Master of Music degree in collaborative piano performance from the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge, MA and the Bachelor of Arts in music from Gordon College (MA) in 2010. As a Longy Presidential Scholar, Christina studied accompanying, chamber music and opera with Brian Moll. Her other piano teachers include Rieko Aizawa, Michael Monroe, Mia Chung, Alina Polyakov, Ginger Hwalek and Paul Sullivan. She has served as rehearsal pianist for the Boston Opera Collaborative, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and the Bagaduce Chorale. Cellist Sarah Shreder has performed throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe and she strives to capture audiences with her energy and passion. She is currently performing with the Bridgeport, Ridgefield, and Wallingford Symphonies and is the professor of cello at the University of Bridgeport. She has performed as a soloist at the Domaine Forget international music festival in Quebec and with the Seven Hills Symphony, having also concertized extensively in various chamber music settings, Sarah has performed at the Quietside Festival and the International Musical Arts Institute in Maine as well as the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
