What’s the history? I started this organization based on my personal experience of being a survivor of domestic violence. I know exactly how it feels to have no one to turn to in the need of escaping. While going through my abusive marriage I didn’t have money saved up but I knew that I was ready to escape. I didn’t want to tell my family or friends that I was being abused and that I needed help. In 2011, I decided to take back my freedom and escaped with no plan. I just knew that I had to leave. I left my job and just had the clothes on my back when I finally told my mom and dad of what was going on. I had to escape and while he was away at work my dad took me to Mississippi where I stayed for 7 months until I was able to gain my mental clarity back. I also had a cousin that was murdered in front of her kids by staying in her abusive relationship.
