Description

In June of 2012, vibrant 16-year-old Leanna Mae Knopik was hospitalized with a rare and sudden cardiac infection. Her mother, Beth Knopik, gives us an unflinching account of her daughter's final month of life and the searing sorrow that followed. Beyond the Rainbow: A Mother's Journey Through Grief to Grace candidly details the arduous task of piecing a family back together in the wake of tragedy, presenting an honest and complete examination of the coping skills that worked for her and her family - and the ones that did not. Beyond the Rainbow: A Mother's Journey Through Grief to Grace will be published on October 18th. Pre-order a copy here. About the author: Beth Knopik, a Virginia native, has lived in Sarasota, FL for most of her adult life. She worked as a commercial banking officer, raised a family, and gives her time to local, regional, and international non-profits. In 2012, her daughter Leanna passed away from heart disease at 16 years old. As a certified life coach, author, and trained Stephen Minister, Beth has written articles about grief, co-leads support groups for Tidewell Hospice, and offers stress management coaching for parents of children with special needs. Beth's life mission is to preserve, share, and expand Leanna's legacy by helping parents through the grieving process. Her book, Beyond the Rainbow, is part of that plan. Beth's husband Steve is retired after a long career with Bealls, Inc. Their son Rogers is pursuing a career in film production. About Beyond the Rainbow: A Mother's Journey Through Grief to Grace: Knopik's goal with this memoir is twofold: 1.) to shorten the path to healing by offering a roadmap through the early stages of grief, and 2.) to broaden the reader's perspective on loss. Not just for the bereaved, any reader may benefit from Beth Knopik's journey through searing pain and her ultimate discovery of God's grace. ..............................................................................
