Fear and Fearlessness on the Path of Meditation with Gaylon Ferguson

Events

2344 N Oakland Ave., Milwaukee WI

12 October, 2022

Description

We live in fearful times—times of deep change and deep division. Out of this, we see the arising of the culture and politics of fear. The world is changing dramatically, evoking strong emotions, violence and even warfare. Is there anything we can do to help bring about more sanity? This program will explore four distinct kinds of fear that are common to everyone’s experience and uncover a corresponding bravery in action. Through the practices of meditation, compassion and dialog we will find the deep source of courage within ourselves that allows us to see our own inherent goodness and the goodness of others and our communities. We will learn a step-by-step approach to engaging fear as a direct path of transformation with the aim of wise and joyful living, in deep harmony with others and the natural world. This hybrid program is available online, but we encourage everyone to join us in person at the Shambhala Center of Milwaukee, to gather, study, and practice together as a community. Gaylon Ferguson will be in person in Milwaukee for the full-day Saturday program, and online for the Wednesday evening sessions. Space will be limited due to health and safety considerations, so please register early.
