*Help*How do I use the SD card I inserted & encrypted

I recently got an SD card for my 32 GB phone, because obviously after a very short while it's saying low on space. I've gone through and deleted a lot of pictures and videos from Google photos and even emptied the trash, I deleted as many apps as I could I want to thank you and I'm now down to the bare Bones. A day or two later and again it is saying I am low on space. It shows that I'm saving pictures and downloads to the SD card, and SD card has 100 plus gigabytes. So I thought my phone should be good for a while. Why does it keep saying low on space? Online instructions confused me and I'm not even that old but I just suck with computersof any type. LOL. No I don't have a regular computer to back stuff up on, either. *help* Text if you can help, thanks.
