Drummer wants to start a monthly FUNK JAM

That's right. I'm a drummer and I want to assemble a group of like-minded funkers to jam on Scary Pockets-style funk cover tunes once or twice a month. Maybe more, if that's the way it works out. By Scary Pockets-style, I mean playing any and all kinds of funk covers of all kinds of songs. I also like all the newer school funk bands like Vulfpeck, Fearless Flyers, Dumpstaphunk, and Snarky Puppy. Especially when they take a classic song and funkify it. And of course we can also play original stuff by all the greats: James Brown, Parliament/Funkadelic, Sly & the Family Stone, The Meters, Ohio Players, The Time, Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power, Curtis Mayfield, etc, etc. You name it.... the sky's the limit! Each month, we can pick 5+ songs that we all agree on, then get together and play. Feel free to send me your suggestions. After we gather a few folks we'll decide when and where to get together... most likely a rehearsal studio central to all of us. We'll split the cost evenly among us, and have a grand old time. I'm an older guy and I've been playing for a million years. I can funk like a mutherfunker. I don't care what you are: male, female, young, old, what color or religion or political persuasion, human or extraterrestrial.
