NOW HIRING part-time weekend groundskeeper/porters to join our team! The Huntington Beach Sports Complex is a 45-acre, sports facility featuring the following: eight softball/baseball fields, soccer fields, utility fields, and batting cages. With tournaments onsite every weekend, we are seeking additional team members to prepare fields, perform general grounds maintenance, and help maintain a clean facility during events. JOB DETAILS - Hourly Wage: $16-$18 an hour - IMMEDIATE START - MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS - Part-time: 1-3 days per week (based on event schedule), 8-20 hrs/week - Location: Huntington Beach Sports Complex - Must have a current drivers license ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Prepare athletic fields (e.g. water, drag/layout/line fields, repairing rodent damage, divots, etc.) for the purpose of providing adequate, attractive and safe areas for activities and/or athletic events; - Removing litter and debris from lawns, planting beds, parking areas, sidewalks; - Assist in emptying trash receptacles; - Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES - Good oral and interpersonal communication skills; - General knowledge and familiarity with common landscape tools (i.e. shovels, rakes, hoses) - Ability to interact positively with others and work as part of a team; - Ability to safely operate vehicles and field preparation equipment (training will be provided); - Ability to perform physical labor, bending, and squatting - Ability to lift, carry, and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing 50 pounds or more - Ability to work outdoors and in inclement weather - Ability to follow proper safety protocol and pay strict attention to safety at all times.
