Description
The broad theme of the day will be around the rapidly evolving electrification boom we are experiencing here in the PNW and a growing number of other areas within the US. Within this broader industry shift away from fossil fuels, we are going to focus on electrified heating, specifically hydronic based systems utilizing Air and Water Source heat pumps, heat recovery chillers, and a specific focus on heat pump heating for domestic potable systems. We will be bringing in some great external folks to participate in this event. See here for high level agenda: - Regulatory code updates and current state of the industry – NEEA/Ecotope o WA State code fossil fuel restrictions driving additional jurisdictions to follow suit - Air source heat pump and heat recovery chiller systems – Jim Chaters / Jacob Tomlinson, Aermec o Air source: types of equipment available today o Water source: types of equipment available today o Proper sizing of systems and proper water volume o Managing defrost (in air source systems) - Recent advancements enabling air source systems to operate at lower ambients temperatures Aermec - Hydronic piping layout and design considerations – laying out a system that works! – JB - Lessons learned and best practices in designing and controlling heat recovery chiller systems – JB/Aermec - Potable/domestic water heating solutions - Brian Culler, Small Planet Supply o System options, system sizing, layout considerations o Using CO2 as a refrigerant - Q&A Discussion forum – ALL PARTICIPANTS! We are putting this on the agenda because we would love for everyone to come with questions, ideas, concerns, etc. to be able to discuss in open forum about the challenges ahead. Approx Timing for the day: - 8am – breakfast/registration – light breakfast and coffee will be served - 9am -12pm – Morning seminars begin - 12pm – 1pm – Lunch (provided by JB) - 1pm – 4pm – Afternoon seminars resume Space is limited.
